What is the 80/10/10 Raw Vegan Diet?

The "80/10/10" part means:

A minimum of 80% of your calories will come from simple carbohydrates.
A maximum of 10% of your calories will come from protein.
A maximum of 10% of your calories will come from fats.

Example: 
In a 2,000 calorie diet,
A minimum of 1,600 calories will come from carbohydrates.
A  maximum  of 200 calories will come from Protein.
A maximum of 200 calories will come from Fats.


The "Raw Food" part means:

No food that has been cooked, altered, dehydrated, or processed in any way.


Examples:

RAW: An apple
NOT RAW: Apple pie

RAW: Freshly-squeezed orange juice
NOT RAW: Sunny D. Orange juice

RAW: A tomato cut into slices
NOT RAW: Ketchup


RAW:

  • fruits, 
  • vegetables, 
  • leafy greens, 
  • nuts and seeds
ONLY.

NO

  • No grains
  • No legumes
  • No salt or sea salt
  • No alcohol
  • No coffee
  • No garlic 
  • No onion
  • No curry
  • No cumin
  • No cayenne 
  • No chile powders
  • No oregano
  • No frozen foods.
  • No vinegar.
  • No olive, canola, sunflower, safflower, coconut oils or any other oils.
  • Of course NO mustard, ketchup, or mayo.


The "Vegan" part means:

No animal products or bi-products.

Example:

Animal Products:

  • Meat
  • Chicken
  • Fish
  • Pork
Animal Bi-Products:
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Cheese
  • Honey (comes from a bee)
